All absences from class, other than for illnesses, need to adhere to the dates specified in the Enrollment Agreement (sample included in this website).

Three classrooms; typical student enrollment is about 75 students.

Classes start the first week in September and end in early June.

Total staffing for the three classrooms typically consists of the director, six other teachers, and four teaching assistants. Staffing and student enrollment can vary from year to year.

Special classes are provided throughout the school year. These classes focus on such subjects as foreign language, art and music, performing arts, and physical education. These classes are taught by additional instructors who are specialists in these fields, under contract with our school.

Cascadia has many activities: several field trips throughout the year; visits to public libraries; an annual Halloween party; celebrations on Thanksgiving, Mothers’ Day, and Fathers’ Day; and a year-end graduation ceremony.

Parent Participation:

Parent help is an important part of several in-class and off-site activities. Please see the “Parent Participation” description in this website for additional information.

Student class hours through Grade 2 are 8:45 A.M. to 3:20 P.M. Class hours for students in Grades 3 and 4 are from 8:30 A.M. to 3:20 P.M.

Before/After School Child Care:

We provide supervised care for after school hours. In order to accommodate parent work schedules, students may arrive as early as 8:00 A.M. Students should be picked up by 6:00 P.M. During after school hours students can work on schoolwork or their homework; they can play indoor games; they can play outside; or they can choose to just relax. For students requiring before or after school care, there is an additional charge of $4 per hour.

Cascadia provides optional classes and activities on most of our Teacher Days, during school breaks in February and April, and during most of the summer. An extra fee applies and advance sign-up is required for the Camps.

Student-Furnished Items:

Students bring their lunches from home; mid-morning snacks and juice are provided by the school. We ask that students have an extra pair of “inside” shoes for use in the classroom. Students also need a “back-pack” (or similar carrier) to transport their homework, lunches and other materials to and from school. The school provides the students with daily work materials including pencils, scissors, paper, rulers, art supplies, binders, work folders and homework folders.

The tuition (including enrollment) for the 2016 – 2017 school year is $17,340. Payment plans are provided for quarterly, for nine month (school year), and for twelve-month time frames. We do not have any general fund-raisers or similar activities although there are occasional special classroom educational projects and optional after-school activities where extra costs are involved. A sample Enrollment Agreement is included in the Admissions section of this website.

Coach Fee:

Coaches (chartered buses) are utilized for many off-site activities. This fee is determined near the end of the school year and is paid at that time. This fee will not exceed $950 for the 2016-2017 school year.
