• Standardized testing: "we can do these"

  • Grade 3: taking the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS)

Overall, Cascadia’s program has lead to good results on standardized tests (ITBS and WASL/MSP).

In recent years, standardized tests have received more emphasis.

Washington State Testing:  State tests are taken by fourth grade students. For the school years ending June 2016, June 2015, June 2014 and June 2013, all of our fourth grade students met or exceeded standards. For the school year ending June 2012, all of our fourth grade students exceeded standards except one student in one area (scoring 396 where meeting standards is 400 in the one area). For the school year ending June, 2011, all of our fourth grade students exceeded standards. For the school year ending June 2010, all of our fourth grade students exceeded standards except one student in one area. For the four school years ending June 2009, June 2008, June 2007, and June 2006 all our fourth grade students exceeded standards in all areas.

ITBS:  For the ITBS, testing is done for grades one through three. Results are reported in terms of percentiles based on national school norms for all schools that took the tests. Results are reported for each grade, each main subject area, and for the whole school. Results are reported for core subjects (reading, language, and mathematics) as a group. The core subject results for Cascadia, for the school as a whole, for the past years are as follow:

  • 2015 – 2016 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2014 – 2015 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2013 – 2014 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2012 – 2013 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2011 – 2012 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2010 – 2011 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2009 – 2010 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2008 – 2009 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2007 – 2008 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2006 – 2007 school year:     99th  percentile
  • 2005 – 2006 school year:     99th  percentile
