Key Facets
of Cascadia's Program
Facets are definable aspects that make up a subject. The key facets that make up Cascadia Montessori School are those that we believe are essential to a student's growth and success. Cascadia provides:
1. A comfortable place for students -
Cascadia is a school that cares about and supports each student
and that provides a calm, focused environment where thinking
and learning can actually occur!
2. A strong academic program -
Children receive clear direction with specific expectations. Skills
are developed and the students make impressive accomplishments
in their education in terms of both understanding and progress.
3. Experiences in creative arts and other activities -
Several
specialists, in addition to our staff, provide quality instruction for swimming
lessons, art sessions, music studios, physical education, and field trips.
4. Attention to personal growth and social skills -
At Cascadia,
students are aware of their
accomplishments and they gain confidence, satisfaction, and pride
in completing their work. Students have
opportunities to be leaders as well as team members.
5. A balanced, facilitative classroom structure -
Education for success includes the development of responsible
learning behaviors and social skills. Students at Cascadia develop
a sense of community and a respect for others.
6. A constructive team environment -
Children sense that learning is important and a benefit to them and
that the staff cares about their success.
We encourage positive supportive roles for the parents in their
children’s education and growth.
This vision of Cascadia Montessori School is more than a list on paper. You can personally see these facets of our school in action if you decide to visit the school.
